About This Design

This rocket frame design stitches out at 114.6 × 147.8 mm (4.5 × 5.8 in) and uses 13 thread colors across 12 color changes. Total count is 14,939 stitches at a density of about 88.2 stitches/cm².

At The Machine

  • Estimated stitch-out time: ~25 minutes at 600 spm
  • Color changes: 12, automatic trims: 6
  • Follow the color sequence table above — thread numbers refer to the chart programmed in the file; match them to your brand by color.

Fabric & Hooping

At about 88.2 stitches/cm² the fill is moderate: one layer of medium-weight cut-away handles most wovens, while knits want a second layer or a fusible backing. At 114.6 × 147.8 mm reach for a 5×7 in hoop.

Thread Colors in This Design

DST files store stitch data but no thread information, so the colors below are our suggested DMC match. Swap in whatever you have in a similar shade:

  • 721 Medium Orange Spice
  • 738 Very Light Tan
  • 807 Peacock Blue
  • 900 Dark Burnt Orange
  • 434 Light Brown
  • 958 Dark Sea Green
  • 3716 Very Light Dusty Rose
  • 780 Ultra Very Dark Topaz
  • 3013 Light Khaki Green
  • 776 Medium Pink
  • 3777 Very Dark Terra Cotta
  • 561 Very Dark Jade

…plus 1 more in the full color sequence above.

Stitching Notes

13 colors across 12 changes makes this a real thread-management job: lay the spools out in sequence order first and keep the color chart to hand. DST stores stitch data only, which is why the color list is a suggestion rather than the digitizer's original choice.

What to Make With It

A border repeats well along table runners, pillowcase edges, curtain hems and quilt sashing. Stitch one repeat on scrap and measure it, then work out how many repeats your piece needs before you hoop the real fabric.
